Field Fiddlers

The nature center where Stella is going to preschool in September has some random programs throughout the summer. One of them is called Field Fiddlers where kids Stella's age go out and spend an hour and a half doing some sort of outdoorsy thing all for the bargain price of $12. Sara took Stella last Thursday and the activity of the day was bug catching. As you can see, Stella's efforts did not go unrewarded and she captured a small cricket. I was disappointed to learn they don't make the children eat the bugs, as it seems like it would build character. Perhaps I have been watching too much reality television. At any rate, Stella had a great time and is looking forward to the start of preschool where she will be doing fun stuff like this three days a week. Note: If you look closely at the last picture you'll notice that the cricket pooped on Stella's arm. No lie - the nature teacher person confirmed it. How's that for an authentic wilderness experience.
