Lake Superior

The girls and I just returned from a circumnavigation of Lake Superior in my parent's RV. 9 days and 8 nights, 1600 miles, with the following overnight stops.

Cloquet, MN

Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario

Mackinac Island, MI

Porcupine Mountains State Park, MI

Washburn, WI

We had a couple long driving days (285 and 300 miles) but on the whole the days were pretty leisurely, allowing us to stop not only at all sorts of natural wonders, but also at nearly every playground on the route. The final count came to somewhere around 14 playgrounds. This was of course the only antidote to the cries from the back - "this is so boring," or "I'm sick of driving." Although Lucy's recollection of the trip will be non existent, she was an unbelievable traveler - pleasant in the car, deep sleeper at night, and smiley when looked at.
