Summer passes, fall arrives

We've started sleeping with the windows open at night, which along with hats on babies and 1st days of preschool means that summer is wrapping up and fall is upon us. Lucy and Stella are both doing well, confirmed by a recent visit to the doctor. Both are long and lean - 25th percentile for weight and 90th for height. Along with the weighing and measuring came a round of vaccinations. Lucy was in her usual good mood until they caught her off guard with the needles, while Stella has made it her goal not to cry and was successful once again. In an interesting vaccine development it has been confirmed that despite what is advertised, the new chickenpox vaccine can actually, in rare instances, cause what appears to be a mild case of the chickenpox. Stella has about 15 little pimple-like pox on her face, neck and arms. She seems to feel fine, although I feel bad that she can't look forward to a week of missed school and nonstop TV watching at some point in grade school.

The new house is nearly complete and looks great. Stella and Sara were even doing a bit of packing today. Stella seems to have warmed to the idea of the move. Sara and I on the other hand have recently grown nostalgic about our current house. Of course the current house really shines this time of year - poor heating and cooling are not in the equation and my car is not frozen solid every morning. It looks like we will be making the actual move in about two weeks - I will post pictures soon. Below is a shot of Stella at her first day of preschool and a random of Lucy rocking in the bouncy seat.
