Holiday Hangover

The photo to the right was taken after all the major Christmas festivities had ended and Stella's cousins had departed the scene. After several days of candy, cookies and limited napping, Stella was belligerent about taking an afternoon nap. She clearly wanted the party to continue, and was too far gone to realize she needed to get some rest. There was no reasoning with her, so we let her loose. Within about 15 minutes she had passed out on the floor in front of the TV amidst some Christmas decorations and plastic cookies. She reminded me of a few guys I knew in college.

While we were in Nebraska there was a significant snowfall here in Minnesota, so we decided to take Stella sledding when we got home. She seemed to enjoy the ride although she definitely liked watching me go down by myself more than taking the trip with me. I was a little more reckless without her and I think she liked watching me flip the sled. Controlling my speed with Stella involved using my feet as brakes, which in turn resulted in a constant spray of snow, which ultimately resulted in the cold red cheeks you see below. No harm done. We will sled again.
