Back to normal??

We had an unplanned extension to Christmas break last week as our first and second days back were cancelled due to the extreme cold.  Lucy also missed her school on Thursday with a stomach bug.  Needless to say, the grand return to routine was anything but.  So, we will try again this week.  With the exception of Sara's pending departure on Friday, this should be a normal week.

The cold finally broke late int eh week and Stella and I took advantage this weekend.  Stella made her maiden voyage on cross country skis.  She got the hang of it pretty quick and after 45 minutes of skiing and quite a few tumbles, she stills as hungry for more.  We're hoping to get Lucy out next winter - family ski days could be just around the corner.  We will have to work on Lucy's wardrobe - she's a bit inconsistent in her willingness to bundle up for winter activities. 

Not too much else going on.  We made a birthday "cake" for our friend Jim last weekend.  It was constructed completely of various types of Hostess cakes (twinkles, Ho Hos, etc) and frosting.  Kind of disgusting, but pretty neat to look at (see below).
