Jack-O-Lantern

The lack of posts lately speaks more to my work travels than Stella's recent activities. As always, she has been busy. With Sara out of town for the weekend on a girls' trip, I am making up for lost time and have a variety of pictures to share from our pumpkin buying and carving expedition today. In the photo above, Stella is apparently trying to mimic the jack-o-lantern's expression. Not a bad effort.

In general, Stella seemed to enjoy the pumpkin purchasing part of the operation more than the carving. This is likely due in equal parts to the various extracurricular activities at the pumpkin farm (petting zoo, inflatable bounce cage, etc) and the fact that I wouldn't let her assist too much with the carving - even with, as she called it, the smaller "baby" knife. We have a larger pumpkin to carve later this week when Sara returns, and will obviously have pictures to post from all the Halloween festivities that are on the horizon. Stay tuned.
