Fall harvest

We're expecting frost tonight, so Stella and Sara made a final harvest from the garden. In addition to gardening on the home front, she has been learning about making honey and planting beanstalks at preschool. She even brought home some eggs from the on site chickens.

Stella continues to grow up quickly, but subtley. She has taken to being somewhat fearful at bed time, frequently asking us to sit with her for awhile. My impression is that the fearfulness is a bit of playacting designed to milk a little more interaction out of us. Tonight as I sat in the chair "for a couple minutes" she faked sleep for a minute or so and then abruptly sat up and said: "Daddy, let's have a conversation." I was a bit dumbfounded, but couldn't resist such an enticing offer, so we chatted for a bit about school and her plans for tomorrow. Quite funny.
