Snow

It went from summer to winter in about 3 days. As you can see from the picture to the right, our house lacks contrast with the landscape in the winter. The snowfall was an occasion to hunker down for a weekend and enjoy the new home. Sara sharpened her sewing skills and cranked out some custom Roman shades for our kitchen - see below for the finished product. They turned out quite nice and at $140 for materials I am thinking it is time for her to open a home based business (the bid we got from a local company was about $1600). Granted there was quite a bit of labor, but Sara seemed to enjoy it and I don't mind the install work. All the sewing had Stella intrigued. Sara let her practice a few runs on the real sewing machine, which made me a bit nervous, but worked out in the end - no fingers attached to fabric.

Lucy has stalled on the transfer from glider to crib. We can get her to sleep in the crib but it takes some work, and she wakes up a lot. The glider on the other hand makes for pretty smooth sailing at night. We are lazy and she is comfortable, so we aren't going to force it. Plus, it hasn't seemed to impact her ability to roll over. She rolls all over the place now, and can kind of scoot around on her back. Thankfully though she continues to be relatively stationary.
