Baking and other Fall pursuits

The girls both enjoy some time in the kitchen with Sara, and recently they made some pumpkin muffins.  Competition is fierce for the measuring cups.  Fortunately, most recipes have enough ingredients in need of measuring and pouring that balance can generally be maintained.  But, consider the shot below, taken only a few seconds before the Norman Rockwell version.  Clearly, as Lucy smiles through gritted teeth, she is considering whether to take her half share of the nutmeg, or bash Stella over the head with a rolling pin to secure both teaspoons for herself.  Thankfully, despite catching Stella in a dangerous moment of inattentiveness, Lucy opted for the former and the muffins were completed without incident.

Below are a few action shots of the girls jumping into the leaf pile I made.  Lucy was playing in them for awhile before Stella got home.  She was mostly kicking them around and rolling on the ground.  Once Stella arrived, it didn't take Lucy long to follow her sister's lead and take a few flying leaps.
