Father Daughter adventure
We returned from our annual father daughter overnight yesterday. This year marked the first joint effort, with Stella and Lucy both going on the same trip. Despite some apprehension on my part, taking them both together worked out just fine. The level of harmony was above average and we had a great time.
This year's trip took us to Red Wing, MN. Colvill Park, part of Red Wing's municipal park system, was a 3/6 year old's dream. It had the single largest playground I have ever seen, as well as a very nice (and sparsely populated) aquatic center. We spent several hours there on Saturday before a light dinner and a concert in the park in downtown Red Wing. After some dancing at the show we returned to our hotel for glow bracelets and a late movie on the iPad.
Sunday morning began with a continental breakfast in the hotel lobby, wherein we prepared a bounty of food. Waffle making and various other preparations being more fun than actually eating, Dear Old Dad ended up eating most of the spread so as not to be wasteful. On the way home that morning we stopped in Hastings and took a few trips down the largest non water slide we have ever come across.
